During the last weekend in February the sun shone in Tarbert for the first Immersion weekend where 15 young people from across Argyll came together to spend 2 days either stone carving or hand weaving on a loom.

The concept behind the Immersion events is that given Argyll’s geography, young people need to travel to access creative workshops, this makes it not always viable to run regular weekly sessions due to after school travel dilemmas. Bringing those interested in a particular technique together for 2 days gives them the chance to really get their teeth into a piece of work and become “immersed” in the creative process, often for the first time.
